SUSAN MAY McLEAN thrives on the vitality and the challenges of the title industry. Although there is always something new, from the parameters of a deal to the regulations that guide them, for Susan, one thing has remained constant throughout her 20+ years in the business: the importance of maintaining the trust and confidence of her clients.

She earned her industry credentials as Chief Business Development Officer and a banker in the collections and non-performing loan departments at Citicorp and the Dime Savings Bank.

As Owner/Client Relationship Manager at Horizon, Susan believes in providing a level of customer service that extends beyond the actual transaction. “I like nothing better than “connecting” people. Throughout the course of the day, or at one of our well-regarded networking events, I will introduce like-minded business individuals, bring to my client’s attention an opportunity that could help grow their real estate portfolio or suggest a resource that might aid in financing. This is not an extra or for-profit service– this is just part of the Horizon business philosophy.”

SHERRI ZARET, PARTNER  As a licensed New York State Real Estate Broker,  Sherri is well-versed in the many aspects and complexities of the residential and commercial real estate industry.  She is also recognized for her successful sales record and marketing strategies.  Sherri’s dynamic management style results in innovative customer proposals, while her organizational skills allow her to apply personalized solutions plus attention to detail for each transaction.

Horizon takes a partnership approach to client relationships.  More than viewing clients as transactions, we are always looking at ways to help our clients’ businesses grow, from making the process seamless to facilitating introductions to conducting seminars to share industry information.   This partnership approach plus Sherri’s determination to exceed expectations has allowed her to bring in new clients that become long-standing business relationships.

mindy_simonMINDY SIMON began her title insurance career as a recording clerk nearly thirty years ago. Since then, she has held positions in all areas of tile insurance management and production. She knows the ins and outs of the business and brings that knowledge along with an industry-wide reputation for excellence, to Horizon’s management team.

Mindy works on Horizon’s commercial transactions, overseeing and resolving any impediments to closing. She along with her team at Horizon is in constant contact with the client to ensure a smooth closing process. She also teams with partner Fern Epstein-Smith to oversee production. In addition to her real estate responsibilities, she serves as the firm’s COO due to her strong background in accounting and computer science.

Having experienced the title insurance business from all sides, Mindy believes a ‘hands-on’ approach provides Horizon an advantage over other agencies. A Horizon principal oversees every file, bringing years of experience and business acumen to each transaction. “Our level of professionalism and title insurance knowledge plus our vast industry connections translates into the highest level of client confidence.”
